Miami Beach, FL – December 3-7, 2014 – Celebrating 10 years as; “the world’s leading fair for collectible design,” Design Miami/ X continues to be Art Week’s premier design fair. Since its inception in 2005, Design Miami/ brings together the world’s leading design galleries. Beginning with 15 participating galleries, Design Miami/ now features 35 of the worlds leading design galleries. Growing in size every year the fair provides a platform where galleries can create large scale, museum quality installations.

Internationally acclaimed architect Peter Marino was honored for his significant influence and achievements in design and architecture with the fairs new Design Visionary/ Award. This years Design Miami/ pavilion is a commissioned work by Minneapolis based designer Jonathan Muecke. The pavilion utilized simple shape and primary color to provide a tranquil escape from what can be a hyper stimulating experience inside the fair. Also on the schedule is a series of Design Talks/ which cover a range of topics from retail design, new wave of American Designers, and socially engaging architectural projects.

Sebastian Errazuriz’s sculptural furniture at Cristina Grajales Gallery was an exciting departure from traditional design. Carpenters Workshop Gallery drew a crowd with their unique works from designer(s) Studio Job. Patrick Parrish Gallery showing of Uncertain Surfaces series was certainly a utilitarian take on wire art along with symmetrically matching fashions from Various Projects. As always at Design Miami/ you can find the best assortment of modern and contemporary design satisfying the demand for a high-end design fair. The 2014 edition of the Design Miami/ partners include: Audi, Swarovski, Fendi, Perrier-Jouët, and Artsy.
