Miami, FL – December 2-7, 2014 – Art Miami, celebrating its 25th edition, returns as Art Week’s “premier anchor fair.” Art Miami’s conjoined sister fair, Context Art Miami, is returning for its 3rd edition. A contemporary and modern art fair celebrated internationally, Art Miami has played a major role in the cultural development of Miami and transformation of Miami into a global art destination. Art Miami & Context feature the most prominent and cutting edge galleries globally. The two fairs represent more than 50 cities in 22 countries sprawled over 250,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibition space.
A cornucopia of contemporary and modern art, Art Miami is always a crowd pleaser with an assortment of all mediums and media. Upon entering Art Miami guests were treated to a large John Chamberlain sculpture from Arcature Fine Art. Contessa Gallery had a number of visually stimulating works from the popular Mr. Brainwash that extended beyond the canvas. The eerily human works from Marc Sijan were once again gaining notable attention at Peter Marcel Project. Hailing from London, Bluetomato Gallery takes the cake for its Polaroid-esque handwritten labels and inviting gallery presentation. Garnering the most attention, however, was the amazing Venus sculpture by Li Hongho showing at Klein Sun Gallery. The work, constructed of paper, was actively being contorted from what seemed to be a solid object into an intricate paper slinky. Art Miami & Context’s sponsors include: Christie’s International Real Estate, Maserati, JW Marriott Marquis Miami, Hotel Beaux Arts Miami, & CNN.
